Clinical Assistant Professor Li-Lian Foo is a distinguished Consultant Ophthalmologist and eye surgeon at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), specializing in childhood myopia control, refractive, and cataract surgeries. She was the first ophthalmologist to complete the prestigious Myopia Fellowship at SNEC and currently serves as the Clinical Director of Myopia Service.

Recognized as one of the Top 10 Rising Stars by The Ophthalmologist Power List 2023, Dr. Foo is a leading expert in myopia research and innovation. She is actively involved in pioneering AI-driven approaches for precision medicine in childhood myopia management, with multiple publications in esteemed ophthalmology journals.

Beyond clinical excellence, Dr. Foo is deeply committed to education and mentorship. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and serves as the Myopia Program Lead of the SNEC Fellowship Committee. She has played a pivotal role in upskilling eye care professionals across ASEAN and the Asia-Pacific through specialized training workshops and masterclasses.

With a background in both medicine and engineering, Dr. Foo brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to ophthalmology. Her expertise extends to health innovation, where she has mentored teams in the Duke-NUS Health Innovation Program, fostering projects with high commercialization potential in myopia management. She is also leading a research initiative to develop AI algorithms for personalized myopia treatment, supported by a competitive research grant.
